“On 15 January 2018, a twin suicide attacks killed 38 and wounded 105 in crowded Tayran Square , undermining security in the capital. While no one has claimed responsibility for the attack, it bore the characteristics of ISIS demonstrating their ability to undermine security in the capital. It is likely such attacks will increase in the wake of elections this year.”
