SIGAR quarterly report paints bleak picture for Afghanistan
On October 30th, the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction released its quarterly report to the United States Congress. Among the key findings of the report was that the security situation continues to deteriorate in the country, with reconstruction significantly hampered by the Taliban’s expanding territorial control.

In part 2 an indication of the performance achievable from various Long-Range EO surveillance sensors is considered. It is based on the UK Home Office Discrimination criteria, which is easier to assimilate than the Johnson Criteria. As the focal length of the Sensors increase the field of view decreases and the need to be able to position and control the sensor accurately becomes more critical.
