‘The EU has pledged a further 225 million Euros to curb migration from Africa to Europe. Italy claims the number of migrants travelling to Italy from Libya has fallen by 20% in 2017. Pledging more money to Italy may provide further funds to improve the situation in Sabratha where rival militias have disregarded the agreements during violent clashes with negative consequences for migrants trapped in the area.’
